Jennskitchenblog Adventures in Germany, Austria & Italy – Day 3 Seeheim-Jugenheim (Hometown)

My mother – in – law was born in a small town south of Frankfurt, Seeheim. My sweet, amazing, father-in-law was in the army stationed near by. They met, they fell in love… Mike was born in Germany; Sherri was conceived in Germany. They moved to the USA, and Paul was born 10 years later. I married him in 1997….

We went to Seeheim on the way to the Weinstrasse for brotchens and coffee. We were planning to hang out with family when the dreaded C-virus attacked them. So, Paul and I went exploring because I was starting a new job the day after returning to the states. Risk was not a good option.

We went Castle exploring:

We found a few Pfungstaders and a nice Eis snack.

After castle exploring, we were ready for a nice meal. I wanted another Schnitzel! We had dinner at a family favorite, Darmstader Hof. You can actually hear the chef tenderizing the Schnitzel. The food is absolutely amazing!

The night was warm, and we had a fun time with the owner of the Gasthaus drinking beer and swapping stories. I took pictures of every herb he was growing (and using in salad dressings).
