Day 8 started early. We were up and packed. I was looking at the map over breakfast. We had a 4 hour drive to Venice, and we decided to stop in Verona to see Juliet’s balcony.
Note: The tolls in Italy are high; the roads are very nice. Plan for $10/hour to drive between the cities.
We parked next to the The Adige. You can actually set up a tour to see the inspiration for Romeo & Juliet, and the city is so romantic! History comes alive.
The drive between Verona and Venice is about 45 minutes. I called the hotel, and the suggested parking garage was Pizzale Roma. Then, we caught a water taxi to the Hilton Molino Stucky. Reservations made at the restaurant on the property with live music scheduled for the evening.
Saturday morning started with an amazing breakfast in the hotel. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. European Breakfast is The Best! Italy starts with Champagne. CHEERS!
We had all of the best Italian food & wine in one day!
We booked our Gondola ride ahead of time on Viator.com. It is super easy to download the pass to your Apple or Google Wallet.
