Italian Seasoning makes sauces taste great. How do you get that flavor when you ran out of the seasoning in the cabinet? Easy, just add equal parts (1 tsp each) of the following dried seasoning and 1/2 tsp of salt, garlic powder, and 1/2 tsp pepper.
If you are harvesting fresh herbs, you will need about 3 times the amount to get the same flavor. So, you will need a tablespoon of each in the combination.
- Sweet Basil
- Marjoram
- Italian Oregano
- Parsley
- Rosemary
- Thyme
I use about a tablespoon of seasoning for 2 cups of tomatoes. When seasoning chicken, I use about a teaspoon of seasoning before putting one chicken breast in the oven.
