French Toast is my favorite breakfast from childhood. My mom would make it for my birthday. Every time Katelynne asks me to make it, I smile a little. The powdered sugar is the only topping we use… You can put as much on as you want. Really, that is our rule. #eatlessmovemoreprayalot
Tools:
- Whisk
- Flat plate for mixing and dredging
- Spatula, the Silicone & Wood Utensil Set has my favorite
- Cast Iron Skillet or Griddle
- Powdered Sugar Shaker
Ingredients:
- 2 TBSP Granulated Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 4 Pieces of Bread – I like White Bread, but anything works
- Butter for the skillet
Instructions:
- Whisk the sugar and cinnamon together.
- Add the egg, and whisk until mixed.
- Then, add the milk and continue whisking until incorporated. (Do not do these steps in reverse order, or they will not mix correctly)
- Soak the bread in the milk mixture until just saturated, and set on a hot buttered skillet on Med heat. Allow to cook until firm.
- Flip only once. Brown second side. Serve with Powdered Sugar!
